Construction for Girls

Autumn and I have been doing a construction project together for the past few weeks. We are slowly trying to build ourselves small houses out of Jenga blocks. And it is slow-going because we are both selfish! Let me explain. Autumn and I read a verse in Proverbs that says: "The wise woman builds her house but the foolish tears it down with her own hands" (Prov. 14:1). As we discussed what this verse was teaching we came up with an idea to practically live out this verse. We realized that a wise woman builds her house by fearing the Lord, doing kind things for others, and working hard for her family. She tears it down by selfishness, not keeping her emotions under control, and having a critical spirit. (Of course there are many other ways to apply this verse; this was just what we came up with.) Since then we have been awarding ourselves blocks then removing them based on how we are behaving. Boy, is it hard to get that house built!
