This week was the Long Winter for us. (If you're not familiar with the book
The Long Winter by L.I. Wilder, go read it!) We had about a foot of snow fall from Tuesday through Thursday. The kids and I were stuck at home and Jason was stuck at work. I ran out of a bunch of groceries (I had needed to go shopping anyway) and we had to drink powdered milk! To keep from going crazy with cabin fever, here are some of the things we did:
Throw snowballs at each other

eat snow

Aiden made a little snow person

Asher dug out and built a big K'nex set

Autumn made us a four-way game of battleship on graph paper. The game took so long we had to play it in three segments, and it took about 2 1/2 hours to finish in all. I won of course, because all my kids were too sweet to shoot at me!

I also am reading aloud to them a biography of William Carey and we did lots of school.
Winter, thou shalt not defeat us!
