This past Sunday, our church held a baptism service in the pond of our friends' house. (If you look down to the post about the week of fun, it is the same pond we drove the RC boats in!)
Autumn expressed a desire to be baptized and after talking with her about it we knew
she understood the seriousness of the commitment.
It was a beautiful day and the church gathered to see her and 5 other young people declare their commitment to follow Christ.
She first gave a simple testimony, then got
"dunked" by our beloved pastor:
Then Jason had the privelege of praying for her.
Afterwards, she was filled with joy!
Here is her testimony:
I became a Christian when I was 6, but never really understood until I was 8 that I am a sinner and that Jesus died to save me. My favorite verse is Psalms 4:8, “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety”, because it helped me not to be afraid if the dark.
I want to be baptized to show that I’m a Christian and to obey the Lord.
