This past weekend I got some bad news: Jason was going to have to work all weekend at the station.
He has to stay overnight often, but when he has to stay three days over a weekend, it bums us all out.
The kids and I packed up to visit him on Saturday. I have to admit that as I was packing up to visit him I was feeling very self-pitying and wondering how I was going to keep a good attitude (not that I had one then) through Sunday without any Daddy home to wrangle the kids and help me at church.
But God is so good. On the hour drive to La Push I listened to a sermon my pastor recently did on the perseverance of the saints. What an encouragement! By the time I got there I was ready to spend a
happy afternoon with my hubby. We played in the Coast Guard gym, then Jay treated us to dinner at the nice restaurant in La Push on the River's Edge.
He and I got burgers, but we let the kids just get sundaes!
It was a wonderful time and I rejoiced in my family and in Christ as I listened to Psalms on the way home.
So the lesson is:
Sometimes God puts us in tight places
But it is always followed by Grace & ice cream!

Tight place = sanctification
Grace & ice cream = His mercy and blessing!!!
We have a great God, don't we!!!
