How to Make Peppermint Bark

When we were at Costco lately, Autumn saw Peppermint Bark, which she had once at a party and loved. However, it was expensive so we thought, "Surely we can make that ourselves!" It turned out great and made lots, enough for us to freeze most of it and sneak little bits whenever something out of the freezer is needed (hee, hee). Here's how to do it:

1. Line a jelly roll pan with wax paper. 2. Melt 24oz (2 bags) chocolate chips plus a little oil or shortening in the microwave or in a double boiler.
3. Unwrap 25 peppermint candies and have someone with excess energy (any boy under the age of 12 will do) smash them with a stick. 4. Spread melted chocolate out in pan; refridgerate.
5. Melt 1 bag (12oz) of white chocolate chips plus a little oil or shortening in the microwave or double boiler.
6. Sift the crushed peppermint over the white chocolate, stirring in the "peppermint dust" to make sure every bite has minty deliciousness.

7. Spread out the white chocolate over the hardened chocolate, then sprinkle the big pieces of peppermint over it. Press them in gently; refridgerate.
8. After it is all hardened, have a big, strong manly boy break them into pieces and serve!
